Rowan’s early years are a
story of stereotypes. Born of a Middle Eastern cabbie in
New York (never seen one of those before!) and a frenchie
hair dresser for a mom, the ridicule he experienced
hardened him. When his parents divorced at an early age
his only comfort was his two Christmas's and the constant
gifts he received when his parents fought for his
love...(I used to get these awesome toys like Stretch
Armstrong and Pee Wee Herman with real talking action.) At
6 years old, he wrote and performed in his first stage
play. Until today, the parents of the first graders, at
Alexander Robertson in New York, remember his rendition of
Henry Ford opening his first car factory as hauntingly
inspired. In high school Rowan slept through most of his
classes preparing him for his first two years of college.
After those first two years he no longer relied on his
childish high school tactics of sleeping through classes
and instead he left school, feeling this was a cheaper
option. The drive to act was still in him and one fateful
day he finally said "Eh, why not?", and the actor was
born. The rest you know.
